‘Give a man a fish and he can feed his family for a day. Give him a net and he can play tennis for a lifetime’
— Well known proverb

MY NAME'S MATT SMITH...

An LTA Level 5 Master Club Coach, LTA British Coach of the Year 2011, LTA Tutor and current LTA Coach DEvelpoment and Learning Manager.

In 2016 I was having a drink with a friend discussing one of the fun, grand slam themed, mini tennis events we had recently delivered to some of the 300+ 10&U children on the programme. This, coupled with the LTA Tennis For Kids initiative we were delivering through the week, giving tennis to new children with free racquets and balls, It occurred to us... Why could something similar not be done around the world?

This became the Mini Tennis World Tour (MTWT) .

The idea stuck and there I was, sitting at Heathrow Airport, waiting for a one-way flight to Rio, Brazil.

Sponsors Zsig Sports loved the project and agreed to donate equipment packs to all the ambassadors at the schools and orphanages that we visited.

28 countries later and we're still going... Now with a team of volunteers and coaches that are helping us change lives through tennis.

Let us know if you want to get involved whether that’s travelling and delivering tennis or helping out in the UK.
